To: Director of Independent Television (UK)

Dear Director of Independent TeleVision,

On Sunday night, I sat down with my husband and daughter for some quality family time. My husband turned on the television and – to my shock and horror – women clad in what looked like undergarments were plastered across my screen! Honest to God I was about to faint there and then. What kind of abomination have you brought into our lives? For the time being I have been sending my daughter to a support group at our local Church to help with the trauma that is Love Island.

May I suggest that your company hold a meeting concerning the frivolous behaviour of these young people? My family will not stand this outrageous fornication on national television. I’m sure the rest of our respectable neighbourhood will not either. We must not allow our children to be exposed to such… sexual antics. Sin! Being committed right in front of our very eyes!

Oh, and may I add, what a splendid episode of Downton Abbey last night!

Yours faithfully,

Edna Welthorpe (Mrs)
